Speed up/Slow down individual snippets
Sarah Keeler
Yes! This would be amazing! A must-have! Even a release without pitch correction would be great as I often have it on low volume/mute anyway. Any update on if this will be on the roadmap soon?

This would be an excellent and necessary pro feature. I typically have snippets I’d like to speed up, but rarely want to speed up an entire mash.
I was excited when the speed up ability was launched only to find out it was for an entire mash. A per-snippet ability to speed up or slow down would make the editing ability on this much more dynamic. Concurrently if I film something I slow motion, this feature would seemingly better allow me to manipulate the snippet

Gadi Rouache: When you say speed up of a single snippet, do you mean everything should run faster or the clip should be shortened?
Gadi Rouache
Vinh Dinh I mean that a snippet could be 1.5x, 2x, 4x, 8x speed. Not an entire mash. It helps for Timelapse-like shots when you’d like to condense 10-second pan, or a driving shot down to a couple seconds… not at the mash level, but snippet by snippet

This is the one I really want. I like the recently-released feature of being able to change the speed of final mashes, but being able to change the speed of individual snippets would be much more valuable 🙏

Lael Uberuaga-Rodgers: Could you tell me more about it? What are the kind of snippets you're looking to speed up and what's your current work around?

Lael Uberuaga-Rodgers
Vinh Dinh: my snippets often contain an action i'm trying to capture (a kid doing a cartwheel, dog catching a frisbee, two people doing a high five) that takes a little too long to fit in the timeframe I want. I still want to capture the full action (I don't want to cut it off) but I don't want the snippet to take such a long time.
Additionally, when I try to use the "speed up" feature in mashes, all it does is shorten the length of each snippet. It doesn't actually speed up the snippet, just cuts it off. (example: I have a 3 bunch of 3-second snippets and if I speed up the mash by 2x, it doesn't actually speed up the video - it just makes each snippet 1.5-seconds instead and cuts off the latter half of the snippet 😔)

Vinh is dealing with video speed on the 1SE roadmap at all?
Vinh Dinh
Hi Lael Uberuaga-Rodgers, not at the moment sorry. The only workaround for now is to add the clip with a longer duration.
We tried out to speed up with sound and that sounds very "chipmunk-y" without any pitch correction so we'll have to investigate more (or only offer speed up without sound).

Vinh Dinh: speed up without sound would work great for me! I completely mute the sound on 99.9999999% of my snippets anyway.
Gadi Rouache
Vinh Dinh I don’t think you need to account for audio when speeding up a clip. As you wouldn’t when speeding up a mash. The utility is significant for what Lael and I are articulating

This would be great, to be able to manipulate a snips speed whilst adding
